About Heather
Heather is a master’s-level counseling intern at Balanced Wellness and a graduate student at Northwestern University, where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Heather serves clients virtually across the Carolinas. She is dedicated to supporting adults from a wide range of backgrounds and approaches therapy by creating a welcoming environment for her clients and displaying respect for each client’s unique lived experience.
Heather values creating a therapeutic space that feels safe, collaborative, and empowering, allowing clients to explore challenges and move toward meaningful personal growth.
Ideal Client
Heather enjoys working with adults who are seeking support for anxiety, depression, and significant life transitions. Her ideal clients may be navigating concerns related to identity development, relationship difficulties, or changing family dynamics. They may feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or stuck as they adjust to new roles, circumstances, or phases of life.
She works best with clients who are interested in gaining greater self-understanding, building confidence, and developing tools to navigate challenges with intention and clarity.
Therapeutic Approach
Heather’s therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, blending Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and psychodynamic approaches. Her work is grounded in multicultural and feminist frameworks, allowing her to thoughtfully consider the social, cultural, and relational contexts that shape each client’s experience.
She collaborates closely with clients to tailor therapy to their individual needs and goals, supporting insight, emotional awareness, and sustainable change.
