Hilary Dains
Clinical Mental Health Intern, NC and SC
Hilary is a clinical mental health counseling intern at Balanced Wellness, providing Telehealth services to clients across NC and SC under the supervision of Dr. Roman and Northwestern University.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley, where she developed a strong interest in human behavior and mental health.
Hilary addresses a variety of concerns for individuals across the lifespan, with a particular focus on serving military families. She supports clients dealing with relational problems, parenting challenges, depression, anxiety, and significant life transitions. To inform her practice, she utilizes Psychodynamic theory, Existentialism, and Person-Centered Therapy models. She has received additional training in parenting skills for children with ADHD, psychological first aid, Zero Suicide training, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from MUSC, and a course on racialized trauma from The Cultural Somatics Institute.
In her free time, Hilary enjoys yoga, going to the beach, planning her next adventure, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
