Meghan Pier
Licensed Professional Counselor, SC
About Meghan
Meghan is a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina who provides in-person therapy services at Balanced Wellness’ Ridgeland office, as well as virtual appointments throughout the state. She is dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and young adults through emotional, developmental, and life challenges, and she approaches therapy with warmth, patience, and a strong commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment.
Meghan believes that therapy is a place where emotions do not need to be “fixed,” but rather understood, supported, and managed in healthy and meaningful ways.
Ideal Client
Meghan works with children, adolescents, and young adults ages 6–22 who may be struggling with emotion regulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, or adjusting to life changes. Her clients often experience big emotions such as worry, sadness, anger, or overwhelm and may feel misunderstood or unsure how to express what they are going through.
She also works closely with parents and family members who want to support their child but may feel uncertain about how to help. Meghan values collaboration with caregivers and believes that strengthening family understanding and connection is an essential part of the healing process.
Therapeutic Approach
Meghan tailors therapy to each client’s unique needs, drawing from evidence-based and developmentally appropriate approaches. Her work is informed by Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and play therapy techniques. Through these approaches, she helps clients build emotional awareness, develop coping skills, and increase confidence in managing difficult emotions.
In addition to individual work, Meghan supports parents by offering guidance, tools, and strategies to foster connection, improve communication, and create supportive environments at home.
